Can you legally keep your unit on your drive / garden. I know it might p##s the neighbours off as its only a small garden/drive and might impair their view slightly although ims ure if i asked them they would not mind ( until they talk to each other )
Providing your deeds do ot have a restrictive coenant that says you can not park a carvan there, then there is no legal reason why not. Even with a covenant in place the only thing to bewre of is failing to respond to a written request from a party to the covenant quoting the covnant and asking you to move it. If you ignore that then you risk having to pay court costs when they use the courts to emforce the covenant.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
the only drawback of keeping your caravan on the front drive is when you go away everyone knows as the caravan is missing.
we used to store ours on the front but now its in storage.
We've had police knocking on the doors of people with caravans on the drive local to us. Thieves are targeting caravans on drives and also like another post says, watching for when you are away. Storage is a small price to pay for not advertising your comings and goings in my book.
some new builds have it written into the deeds as janus said above
so if your home is relatively new best to check(although ive also read that many developers dont enforce this once the site has been finnished)
Apart from a prohiobition within your title deeds there may be a planning prohibition. Worth checking

The only time we got burgled, the caravan was on the drive. We were only out for a few hours in the evening. I think most burglars are just oppotunists and don't do surveys of drives. As the police said you vcould turn your home into a fortress to deter burglars, but at what price. !0 years of storage works out at thousands of pounds - most of our valuables come with us in the van.

I bought a caravan, in consideration of my neighbours I put it in storage, two months later thieves took a crowbar to the door but ound nothing worth taking and a van that would have been very difficult to sell on. So I spoke to my neighbours, told them what I intended ( either with or without their approval) and two weeks later the van was on my drive where it has stayed for 21 years. I have had no security problems either whilst at home or away, and have saved thousands in storage fees. None of my neighbours have any problems with it, so I would say do it, you are unlikely to regret it.

We came out of storage and onto our drive about five years ago.
The reasons were purely financial but, and it's a big but, we live in a low crime area. Like previous contributors, I am aware that when the 'vans not there, neither are we.
If you are going to go down the 'Drive' route, beef up your security, including, but not exclusively, consider a security post preventing removal and also consider a ground anchor and anything else which makes your pride and joy harder to remove.
------------- How come when some people visit the fountain of knowledge, they only gargle!!!
Further to the above, if you can put a cctv camera or good dummy camera facing the caravan with another pointing towards the wheel clamps if possible it will deter some of the obvious candidates from interfering with the caravan.
I sometimes leave mine in temporary storage for a few of weeks if I am going back to an area or same site. This confuses even my neighbours who sometimes assume I am away if the caravan is not in the driveway. Most neighbours are naturally nosey and are handy for keeping an eye on things (at least they are in the village where I live!).
Good ground anchors well concreted in with a heavy duty chain through the A frame will slow thieves down as will a couple of posts with good locks.
If you can park nose in it will also help as it reduces the chances of anyone putting a clamp on the hitch and dragging the caravan on to a low loader.
You don't have to make it impossible to steal, just more difficult than the caravan down the road.

I ask my neighbours to park on my drive when I'm away, so it looks like someone is house sitting. TBH I just don't worry about it much, I can't afford storage and have a perfectly good drive. And good neighbours!
I have caravan at home, drive has a 1-4 slope then 3-4 inches each side of van from gable of house and garden wall for about 30ft. Then a further 15 ft to back of garden. So approx 60ft -65ft in total.
So not easy to get caravan in or out without damage, its a slow process but worth it.
Large 6ft gates which are locked in 3 places.
Good visual security/alarm on van and house, excellent neighbours, we all look out for one another when anyone is on hols.
I think living in a cul de sac is a bonus as well.
