Would it be a problem to park the van on grass throughout the winter. We'll use slabs for the stabilisers, but slightly concerned this could encourage dampness! Hopefully we'll get a hardstanding organized in the spring, but would appreciate any advice.

No problem at all, damp is not an issue hard standings get just as wet as grass and neither passes it on to the caavan.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

As long as nothing grows up into the van there wont be an issue.

I would stick the wheels on slabs not the steadies.

Don't use garden paving slabs unless they are of the heavy reinforced type as the weight of the caravan will crack them as they settle.
