My parents would like to buy us a BBQ for using when caravanning. We are a family of six so don't want it to be too wee. On the other hand we don't want one which is very heavy. Any thoughts? Including whether gas or charcoal? Thank you.

We got a Weber smokey Joe and we have been really pleased with it - it is really robust and cooks food great. You might consider the Jumbo Joe if there are 6 of you. Recommend it if you go for a non-gas one.
