Also sorry to hijack - when is the best time to buy an awning. Do manufacturers have a sale time or when do most people sell off their awnings to buy a new one?
For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Jeff Bowen Awnings (online) are very helpful and very reasonable. We have the Trigano Eurovent Montreaux which is allegedly a 4 season awning and find it very sturdy. Ours is a 1035-1050 and complete with annex was just over £1000.
having zero feedback on ebay i would be doing more than negotiating a carrier
i wouldnt hand over a few hundred quid for an item i hadnt inspected to a new seller on ebay.........just saying
thanks everyone, so looking there, cause our van measures 850, we would need size 9- which would be 850 to 875 am i right?
we have a full awning here, we were told its an 850, bradcot, but seems way to big, but when we layed it on ground and measured one end to other it measured 850 lol, am guessing this is wrong way of guessing the size,
you do the same as on the van ,measure the length of the slide in part end to end .
as you already have a awning it would be far easier to just slide it into the rail and see if it fits it should just touch ground level at either end
We have Dorema Montana SuperLux and have been very pleased with it. We got direct from the depot just off the M62 near Castleford and manged to 'negotiate' fibre poles thrown in.
We have also used Jeff Bowen in the past without problem though I seem to remember reading on here that a few member had issues with them(?)

Why not have it altered? We had ours made a bit bigger when we changed our van. Burton Canvas Repair Centre did a fab job for us. There will be something similar near you, but if not they will collect and return.
