Is it ok to use the kind of sink unblockers you'd use at home like Mr Muscle? The bathroom sink and the kitchen sink in the caravan drain soooooo slowly and I think the pipes must be gunky. I have no idea what caravan pipes are made of though and am scared I might damage them. I already did Puri-Cleanse through the whole system.
I've got one of those plungers at home that looks like a bicycle pump, that forces air down the drain. Great for shifting gunk in a slow moving drain. I'll see if it has a make on.
I used a long piece of curtain wire, it's probably hair and stuff in the bathroom, particles of food in the kitchen sink. After you've fished all the gunk out with the wire, put a couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda into the plugholes, and wash it down with vinegar.. it will fizz all the way down, when it starts to drip out, leave for approx 15 mins, then rinse out with warmish (but not boiling!) water.
...then get some plughole guards so that nowt else can go down there, then you only have to do the bicarb and vinegar bit occasionally!
I have used a plunger in the past the same as what 'frannyvan' has suggested. If the pipes are totally blocked then you have to be careful but if the waste is draining slowly then there obviously is air getting through and therefore safe to use a plunger. Once the debris has been cleaned out then you can treat with a solution to clean the pipes but you need to remove all the gunk before hand. Prevention is better than cure so it's advisable to occasionally treat the waste pipes. That's what we do and never had a problem since.
If you are away and struggling for something to use to rod the pipes the tv aerial lead is very good for the job, stiff enough to be able to push and to have a realistic chance of penetrating any blockage. I found this out from experience.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
I had a problem with a slow draining kitchen sink in our caravan, despite pouring boiling water and various cleaners down it there was no improvement, when I got under the van and took the pipes off they were chock full of dead, previously hibernating, flies.
