I use the blue toilet stuff but have been told not to use the pink stuff because you find black slimy gunk coming from under the toilet rim so I just use plain water to flush... Does anyone else have that problem, because I would really like to use the pink but dont want the slimy gunk
you must use something or your toilet bowl,it will strain and once stained you can not remove the stain.try top and tail from fenwicks.other suppliers sell pink its only thetford pink that gives black bits.
Have to disagree Michael, it's not only Theford pink that leaves black bits. We use this stuff and it also leaves black stuff when the water is low in the flush tank.
GO outdoors only do Thetford and Blue Diamond makes, probably best to find a local caravan dealer with good accessory shop.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

ok
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
You don't need anything in your flush tank just clean water. We have been vanning for 40 years and have never had a stained toilet. We also use Tesco's bio washing cassettes in the tank. Does the same job at a fraction of the cost of the awful sticking blue stuff.
Halfords have blue diamond too, but I was told not to put anything in at all only water, but I want it to smell nice. Is blue diamond any good? because is only £3 and its a buy 1 get 1 free
I've not noticed any gunky stuff with the pink yet? It smells really nice as well.
Talking of using washing tablets, they are really good at cleaning the trays out of ovens too! Throw them in the bath with a washing tablet every so often and they sparkle!
Oh that a good idea. going to get small bottle, rim block and blue diamond blue and pink in the BOGOF deal. Oh I do like this site, there is an answer for everything from someone lol x
A good tip given to me many years ago for the top tank was to use un concentrated fabric softener, the cheapest you can get. Morrisons do a litre for about 45p.
'Must use something in the tank' ? we'd be poisoned by now if we did that. The toilet flush draws from the main onboard tank !! Rim blocks are fine..........Mick
We use Elsan or Thetford and have never had any black bits in our tank.
Tried Fenwicks once but had to chuck before the bottle was finished because the smell was so bad it's not nice smelling stuff to say the least.
I have go a block to go on the rim for the time being and will get some pink stuff, I dont really know which one, it seems they all are very much the same from what ive read. I dont think its in the tank it when you flush the black gunk comes from under the rim. So is it all stuck under there and builds up over time.....
