I know I have seen the answer in here but can't find it on a search.
We have a new van and new porch awning and it is REALLY hard to thread the awning through the rail. Our last set went through so easily. What can we do to make it easy?
You can get awning rail lubricant, but silicone spray or any of it's associated derivatives, eg Back to Black, Bumper Shine, Flash Dash etc... contain large quantities of silicone which will do the job. Best bet is a supermarket own brand variety as it's a lot cheaper.
Just a thought. You haven't been plagued by an over exuberant application of sicaflex or sealant during manufacture.
On my present 'van I had to remove a couple of lumps of the stuff inside the 'U' where the awning rail was joined.
A pair of long nosed pliers and a healthy amount of anglo saxon word usage got rid of them.
