Hi Folks
First of my stupid questions
The caravan did not come with waste water container...I will sort this. Which is best bearing in mind we will not use the shower?

Then how do you connect to van (previous owners let it drip?)

Just realised thats 2 questions!

There are many different types of waste water container, it's what will suit you really. I have a small bucket for mine, as I can't carry heavy weights around, so I just use a small mop bucket and empty every day, only takes a few minutes.

The wastemasters are good, but take up a lot of space, and are very heavy at full capacity.

these hereare my favourite. I have the fresh water one. Very easy to fill and also to empty and dry.

I've seen a few of theseon sites, but they are hard to lift when full, you will need a little trolley to put it on to take it to the waste water drain if you're as weedy as me! If you have a loo with a tank system, I think a small trolley is a good idea anyway, saves struggling.

i used to have one of these

No idea how any waste container fits onto a caravan drain system as mine just drains into the bucket!

Hope this has helped a bit.

You can buy a waste pipe from the same retailer you but the container from (or most camping shops) This fits directly into the van to allow the water to drain into container.

If you go to a caravan accessory shop to buy caravan waste pipe tell them the year of your caravan and they should give the right one as I think there are three different size diameter pipes. The smaller one is black in colour which fits on the outlet on earlier models and the other two are grey which are bigger but you need to make sure you have the right size for the waste outlet on your caravan. I use a wastemaster for collecting the waste water as you can also use it to transport your toilet cassette if you want to save carrying it. Just make sure you have some bungee cords to stop the cassette slipping off wheeling it over uneven ground as the wastemaster has lugs at the top and bottom to connect the grab hooks on to.

We have a Wastemaster too and it holds loads of water. I did find it really hard to pull when it was full to the brim but OH manages it ok.

I would measure the size of the outlet(s) where the hose will fit on, that way you are sure to get the right size.

Some vans have 2 outlets, the second is usually just for the shower. If you have 2, as you are not going to use the shower, check what is connected to each outlet.

If you do need to connect to both, buy a Y piece to connect them together and then only one pipe will go to the waste container.

Buy a decent length of pipe as on some sloping pitches you may need to have the waste container a little away from the outlet(s). 1 metre at least.

If you plan to use serviced pitches at all, you should get at least 6 metres and a couple of joints. that way you can cut the pipe into 3 sections so you can tailor the length to your requirements.
