I'm thinking about buying a Duvalay but am dithering about whether to get the one with the 2.5 cm thick memory foam base as it would be easier to roll and store (and cheaper!) OR the 4 cm thick one as it would be more comfortable.
Also, am I right in thinking that Duvalays fit quite easily under caravan bench seats? I've only seen them on the website, not in real life so not quite sure about this.
Any thoughts? Cheers!

I made my own, and it was 2.5cm thick. They roll up and pop under the seating nicely. We find the 2.5cm adequate, but couldn't comment on the 4cm. The memory foam certainly helps raise your body temp and keep you warm.
I've just made two. Really comfortable.
2x2.5cm memory foam toppers £20 each, two 10.5tog duvets £7, four single duvet covers and machined them together. Brilliant.
We bought our Duvalays a few years ago and I don't remember having a choice of mattress thickness so I can't be certain what ours is but just having had a look it looks like 4cm. We also have the winter weight duvet so ours do roll up to be quite bulky. If it's any help ours when rolled up have a diameter of 40cm (and 60cm long) so I would imagine the thinner mattress with perhaps the summer weight duvet (probably OK in a caravan - we have a folding camper which can get a bit colder during the night without any heating) would have a smaller diameter when rolled.
You sound pretty sold on them, so I don't have to tell you they're the best things we've ever bought for camping.
thematches - I bought a double memory foam and halved it, and then I bought two double duvets and sewed that down just over 2ft 6 in from one edge. Single duvet fits in one side and memory foam in the other. Had the single duvets so it was just £20 for double duvet cover and £29 for the memory foam.
Have to say, I had hear great reviews and lot saying just like Evenstephen, that they were the best thing they've ever bought.
We brought a couple of the thicker Duvalays with summer and winter duvets and with the winter duvet they are quite large rolled up and won't fit under seating, we were going to put in car boot during day but instead leave them unrolled and on top of bed slats and put seat cushions on top of duvalay during the day, certainly one of our best buys, so comfortable and warm
Karen.
We thought for ages about the different ways if doing it. A double cut in half was too narrow for our beds and a king size or two singles were the same price. Plus with the two singles I have left the top 15" unstiched so that it doesn't come over your face ( the duvalays look to be like that). I also bought reversable duvet covers so that we can change the colour scheme around. Very pleased with myself. Haven't use a sewing machine since my gcse textiles 20 years ago😳
I have the 4cm winter Duvalay and I love it!
Mine does not fit under the seats but not sure if that is because my caravan is so tiny with small under seat boxes or because the Duvalay is too bulky!
I tend to either roll it up and stand it on the end of the seat or leave it spread out on the seat and put a throw over it.
Either way, I wouldn't go away without it!
I made my own with a single duvet I already used, two old single duvet covers, and a value range topper from Dunelm. It was great in the tent over last summer, on top of a self-inflating mattress to give a bit more bounce, but when I got my Romahome I found it was just too wide for the bed and hung off, getting in the way, and was a nuisance during the day as there was nowhere to put it, so I just use the duvet again now.
I like a firm bed anyway.

We also have a couple of then 4cm Duvalays, but roll them up with the duvet part extended out one end. Rolls up a bit longer, but thinner for storing under the seats.Brilliant items.

Great tip stevo1, never thought of rolling them up like that.
Thanks all for the feedback and tips. I like stevo's one about rolling up! Looks like the 2.5 cms will be plenty thick enough, like Caz I prefer a firmer bed anyway.
My previous van had a fixed bed but I've made a different choice of layout this time so want to be sure sleep time is as easy and comfy as possible
Only six weeks until I'm back on site for the start of the new season, exciting

We use to fold ours this way to get them under the bed but now just fold them in to three much easier and fit well even though we have a small ariva so not a lot of space !
