Just a quick warning to anyone thinking of buying from these people,DON'T ,we had some legitimate warranty issues with a recently purchased caravan and they could not have been less co-operative if they tried , downright refusal to honour their warranty ,ignoring emails ,promising to ring me back when the person I wanted to speak to was not available which never happened ,the list goes on .
Once they have got your money they don't want to know !!
A clear instance of buyer beware
Sounds familiar, been there got the t-shirt, thankfully with latest van I have quite the opposite - a solid family business that understand the value of customer service. Recommend Derby Caravan Centre to anyone.
Hi dragbike, so sorry to hear of your issues with Glossop . We have purchased a new van from them earlier this year, and to date I can honestly say they have been excellent with ourselves. They are a huge dealership . When we were waiting for our handover it was like a conveyer belt with vans coming in and out. I don't know if it helps , but I had a lot of contact with a chap called Danny, who was extremely helpful in sorting out the problems I had. As far as I know he is the only Danny I know that works there ,so it might be worthwhile giving him a call. Or if you join the other forum, CT and send him a personnel message ( he goes by the name of wolfman, I know I laughed when he joined ) as I know for a fact he sorted out many a buyers problems. He joined that forum so he could help people with problems they were having with Glossop. Hope it helps cheers Scoobz .
The op needs to include far more detail to allow fair judgement/verdict by the court of ukcs. Age of caravan, nature of faults, specific reasons given for refusing to do repairs under warranty, etc, et al...
We have previously bought 2 caravans from glossop and never had any problems. Warranty work on the first van was carried out promptly without any queries,no problems at all with the second van.
I agree with scoobz they are a big dealership-when we picked up our first van up we had to wait 6 weeks to do so as that was the first available slot! As you can imagine-that is a lot of caravans going out.
we would never use Glossop again as they sold us a van that was damp and they knew it....wondered why they were so pushy for us to buy it....but we were first timers so trusted what they said....never again, I had been warned by a friend not to use but while they are taking your money they seem alright.....wouldnt have anything to do with us when we rang up!!!!!

Well i can only speak as i find never ever had any issues with them, yes i had a warranty work done and it was dealt with in a proper manner even the service was first class. But before anyone crucify this company let have the facts, its ok put a warning on here which is very unfair without giving us the proper facts.Sometime this year i be buying a new van and i be buying it at Glossop.I don't work for them and i don't know any names that work there but i do know how to talk to people and get things sorted in a decent proper manner and i do know any warnings done public should have the facts attached to them, let play a fair game here
My complaint was that a few weeks after buying the used van the fridge packed up ,data cable fault between the display and pcb, this cable is sealed into the body of the fridge and is not replaceable, Glossop caravans say that wiring is not covered even though this is an integral part of the fridge and failure of this part requires the fridge to be replaced (Glossop's words not mine),I was told that I would have to pay around £600 to replace it.This after paying over £9000 for the van .
We bought a secondhand caravan from Glossop Caravans a few years ago. The price was a little high but the condition was excellent except for a damaged front panel which they said would be properly repaired before collection, which it was.
They had almost a month to do the work, which they said was more than enough, and paid a substantial deposit.
They were told that we would be taking the caravan on holiday the day after we collected it.
The day before we picked it up they called to say it would not be ready as they had a problem with someone off sick in the repairs department!
After a good argument with a junior member of staff I managed to speak to the salesman who we had dealt with. I told him that as his firm had failed to conform with our agreed contract for repair and collection that the contract was cancelled, I would no longer require the caravan, and they should transfer the deposit back to me immediately failing which solicitors would be instructed to commence prroceedings immediately for return of the deposit and damages for aborting our family holiday.
The caravan was ready for collection the following day.
Our next caravan was purchased from Canwell Caravans, Canwell, nr Sutton Coldfield. Superb service. Everything done as promised. Collection at the appointed hour on the appointed day.
