Hi,

I've been doing some research on a full size awning and have whittled the contenders down to 3 credible contenders. I'd be interested in anyone's experiences or thoughts on any or all of these please.

A - Outdoor Revolution New Hampshire. £689 for 1050 & steel poles. I like the look of this awning and had a look around one when a neighbouring van had one. Pros - it comes with extras (storm straps & fix on pads), both sides have mesh, it has a front door so eases pressure on the zips, 280 gsm fabric, 250cm deep. Cons - I read a review that the poles rely on wing nuts to tighten which makes it more difficult to put up by myself. I really like this awning but the wing nuts could be a deal breaker

B - Dorema Octavia. £863 on their website but can get it for £775 on other websites. This has a great look with the curved ceiling. Pros - at that size, Dorema put 2 extra uprights/roof poles in to give it extra stability, Tencate material, both sides have a fly mesh and it comes with easy grip steel as a standard and I've used this in the past and know I can put the awning up by myself. Cons - Its only available in grey which, to be frank, looks depressing

C - Bradcot Concept. £824. Winner of Best Awning of 2011 award (don't think there has been such an award since!) Pros - 3 years guarantee (others are 1), moveable pegging system so helps peg it out on uneven or stoney ground, canvas to poles securing. Cons - peg ladders need to come off after each outing.

I'm only planning on using the awning 3 or 4 times a year for longer breaks (I have a Fiamma Caravan Store for the weekends away) but I will be using it at any time of the year so want to opt for steel poles with storm straps for those winter hols.

Any comments or experience of using any of these is greatly appreciated
