Hi, I am new to this site and also new to caravaning. I have always camped in tents but the time has come to seek out a little more comfort. I am about to purchase a small 2 berth Rapido. One owner since new 1994 and in immaculate condition. It would be helpful if anyone out there has knowledge of these vans and points to watch out for.

If you do a search using the search button at the top of this page you'll find quite a bit about Rapido caravans. If you also do a search on the folding camper and folding caravan forum you'll find a lot more information.

Hope this helps.

Rob

Always make doubly sure that the roof is locked down fully before towing. One poor chap on here lost his poptop roof when it unexpectantly opened when he was moving.

Keep the roof gully clear of leaves and debris. As this can cause leaks if you get rubbish in the seals.

Check that the hydraulic roof assistors are working correctly and that the pivots are in good condition

Whenever you see a Tamaris T31 (like yours really) offer them lots of drinks free. It could be me.

And finally , watch how much you load in the van as they have a very low luggage capacity (Roughly 100Kg)

Other than that they are just the same as other vans but smaller.

Many thanks Rob Tina & PopTopMan. There really is a surprising amount of stuff on he Rapido. If the Tamaris T31 comes down my way in France, definately a drink or three on me!!

Can any one who already has the rapido pop up ..tell me I have a honda jazz that I am towing a tardis trailer tent , it's easy to tow with no wind resistance on the motorways so pops along at 60 no problem.
How does the rapido compare when being towed . ? As thinking about changing to something easy to set up.
