We have got a Dorema Octavia awning which is fab, but we are finding it a little too big for our needs. We also have a Swift porch awning which is too little for our needs! So, we are looking for something in the middle which is fairly lightweight and easy to put up and take down.
We have looked at Quest Berkely and Kampa Rally, wha tare your thoughts and suggestions?
Many thanks
Emma
PS Dorema Awning for sale if anyone is interested! Only used on 2 occasions, so as new!
We have just used our new Kampa Rally Club 330 for the first time, and it withstood VERY heavy rain in Northumberland for the last three days without any leaks whatsoever. If I tell you that we actually had a stream of water running through the awning (on our brand new awning carpet!) then you will see how wet I'm talking about! We are very pleased with the Kampa, only chose the Club because we wanted the 330 size (having had a OR Compactalite 250 we wanted something slightly bigger but still lightweight) but now pleased we did as we had more options with opening windows etc.
We did consider the Rally Club Pro, which has much heavier material, but after the last few days I'm so glad we didn't!. Taking the awning down without it touching the ground, which was completely muddy and waterlogged, was difficult as it was, with heavier material it would have been impossible and new awning would have been completely ruined. As it was, we left the awning until last, covered the inside of the caravan with towels, then took the poles out and all held the awning up, then bundled it as it was inside the caravan door and drove home! Didn't even try to get it in the bag, it was still lashing down as we packed up yesterday. We were just glad to get it down without getting mud all over it. Hoping it stays dry here today so we can get it dried out. Along with everything else!
------------- Im no cactus expert, but I know a prick when I see one!
We have a kampa rally 260 and love it! 3 poles and its up! It fits under the side dinette seats, annex and all! (We have the 260 plus as we only had a 4 berth for the 5 of us, kept it when we changed to a 6 berth so the children could bring friends along without being cramped) It's so easy to put up and take down. We pull up, OH goes to get water, connect hook up and waste pipes. By the time he's done that its up and I'm already pegging out. Lightweight too, I think the whole thing including main awning and poles plus annex and pole is around 17kg. Good luck with finding one that suits you
