Hi
Please can anyone help, we have an old Pennine Pullman, late 80's or 1990. The actual trailer part is very good, just one spot that leaks in heavy rain, but the awning is terrible. Leaks at every corner and has quite a few leak spots, when the canvas is wet you can see it looks much lighter that the rest of the canvas. We have given it 2 coats of water proofer. Is it that the canvas is just too old and will never be water tight? Or is there any thing we can do? I one corner where it is double canvas, it was still dripping water about 6 hours after it had stopped raining! Not sure how that works!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dont know what you are using or how thick you put it on but,i reproofed an old awning using fabsil and a garden water held spray bottle. You have to "wet"the canvas before you move to another part, perhaps you have not been doing this ?

I'm pretty sure proper canvas needs wetting then drying to tighten it up. Could you get it all up in the garden and give it a good soaking while we have a bit of nice weather? Then fabsil as Jeff says. The leaking could also be occurring because you haven't pitched the awning tight enough perhaps.

Try posting your question in the trailer tents/folding campers section as they will have more experience of these things there.

I had a terrible leak in my awning, dripping constant, turned out the pole going across the roof had moved from where it should be and was touching the wrong part of the awning which caused the water to penetrate through. Moved the pole across a bit onto slightly different fabric and bobs your uncle.
So anything touching the fabric could cause it to leak.
Just something to think about.
