I am armed with a damp meter Jeff. Was just looking for any problems with this paticular type of van. It really is hard to find a good van. Looking to spend £4k max but the lesser the better. This is marked up at £2k. I know its not a fortune but it is alot of money to spend on an old damp van. Fair enough if its dry and clean.

Check front Gas locker and front pannel for cracks round hand grips, its a sign the panel and locker is all loose.

Check rear internal walls around where the rear grab handles are attached. Also check above wheel arches on the inside, one being inside the cupboard. Both rear corners and around inner door frame. Lastly, around the main window, inside and out. ------------- David

thanks guys for your responses. Van looked ok but a couple of internal fittings were loose which made me a little nervous. I have also viewed an ABI Sprinter 1997 model which I am looking to buy subject to a damp report. The Sprinter is exactly the size and layout i am loking for, it is in cracking condition and has an awning etc and is cheaper. If it is dry I will buy it, its a really nice van and its fittings and upholstery etc are very modern for a van of this age.
