A 7kg gas bottle doesn't stang up in our front locker. 

We find it more economical to get a bigger one instead of a 4.5kg.

Can you use it when it's laid on it's side in the locker?

Similar to the forklifts that use LPG cylinders strapped to thier rear ends?

Forklift bottles are used on their side as they draw liquid not vapour. Turn your vapour bottle on it's side and it'll draw liquid and chances are not work as it'll block the regulator.

It's also incredibly dangerous so don't do it.

We don't have a 4.5kg (butane) bottle to exchange, only the 13kg propane we're using now, and the 7kg butane ATM.

Oh, and an empty 15kg butane I got from work today to use as an exchange bottle.

Can you exchange a near similar kg butane for propane and vis versa?

How long roughly, does a little butane or propane bottle last?

We go away Saturday (for the BH week), so was thinking of using the remainder of the big bottle at home for the BBQ, and get a fresh bottle for going away with.....

According to Calors own web site, they recommend the 6kg, Lite and the 13kg Propane for touring caravans.

No mention of Butane?
