I know this has been mentioned in the past but I just thought I'd throw in my own experience. We have an Elddis Crusader with a Dometic fridge. On previous occasions during warm weather we found that the fridge wasn't getting very cold, either on 240v or gas, especially when it was venting into the awning. Milk was going off and other food wasn't keeping very long. Consequently, we had a fridge fan fitted and it works an
absolute treat. Even in warm weather the
fridge was very cold, keeping frozen food solid and freezing ice
cubes. All the food kept fresh instead of having to throw some
away. The fan comes on for about 20 – 30 seconds every 10 minutes or
so. Noticeable at first but you soon get used to it and with general background noise you don’t notice it at all. In cooler weather it doesn’t run
very often at all. We switched it off at night.
I know I could have messed around and made one up with a CPU fan and bits of meccano and a thermostat but I found it much easier to get it from http://www.caktanks.co.uk/ and have it fitted by my local friendly mobile service guy. Anyway, for anyone suffering from this problem, just a word to say it really does work.
