I know this has been mentioned in the past but I just thought I'd throw in my own experience.

We have an Elddis Crusader with a Dometic fridge.  On previous occasions during warm weather we found that the fridge wasn't getting very cold, either on 240v or gas, especially when it was venting into the awning. Milk was going off and other food wasn't keeping very long. 

Consequently, we had a fridge fan fitted and it works an absolute treat.  Even in warm weather the fridge was very cold, keeping frozen food solid and freezing ice cubes.  All the food kept fresh instead of having to throw some away.  The fan comes on for about 20 – 30 seconds every 10 minutes or so.  Noticeable at first but you soon get used to it and with general background noise you don’t notice it at all.  In cooler weather it doesn’t run very often at all.  We switched it off at night.

 I know I could have messed around and made one up with a CPU fan and bits of meccano and a thermostat but I found it much easier to get it from

Anyway, for anyone suffering from this problem, just a word to say it really does work.

I went for the single.  I don't think you'd need the double unless you were going somewhere really hot. Also you might find there is not much space behind the vent to fit a double.

The included switch has three positions. 

UP - fan runs all the time

MIDDLE - fan off.

DOWN - fan runs from thermostat.

I fitted one about 18 months ago out of the bits & bobs and it works a treat in hot weather, I can recommend one. (whenever we may actually get some sunshine) I manually switch it on and then a thermostat makes the fan run when its needed.

Hi birder99, from memory it was something I got from t'internet, the thermostat is normally open circuit till about 20oC when it closes and supplies 12volts to run a very quiet computer fan. It wasn't easy finding one with the correct working temperature, but similar to this one here.

No probs mate,  

It made quite a difference  to the fridge efficiency when we had hot days in France as unmodified it struggled to work properly, must keep the beer and wife's white wine cool . I mounted the thermostat to the metal bracket that I mounted the fan on. I had a link for the installation should you want it?

Your fridge may well have a 12v supply going to a three way switch already, do you have the info on a wiring diagram or a multimeter to check it out?
