I have just bought my first ever caravan. It is a 1988 Trophy Olympic Gold in quite good condition. I am an absolute beginner to caravanning and would like to know a bit more about the van I.e what are the large bolt like holes at the back for, above the bed ? How do you make the beds up ?
I think we would need pics to know what they are, the only thing I can guess at is that there was probably a bunk bed there.
Never mind making up the beds just yet, get checks done on the gas and electrics, and the running gear first, they are the important bits! (unless it came with a service certificate of some sort, from either a dealer or service engineer. Better safe than sorry! :)
I'll get it booked in somewhere. The seller seemed very genuine and they even called me to see how I was getting on (only picked it up today). I clearly know nothing about caravans !
for about £ 150 a mobile engingeer will check it out for you and you feel safe on the road when you take it out for the first time,and you will know if the brakes are working correctly and it is gas and electric safe for you,just many of the things checked on a service.
