We are off this afternoon for the weekend as a pre season trip, but this is my first winter with a caravan and only just read that the water pipes need to be cleaned out. But if that isnt possible what could we do to clean the pipes out without a sterilising fluid

I would advise you to clean the system you can do it on site without problems.The chance you take even if you dont drink the water from the taps is bacteria on your dishes if you wash them in the van.Dont spoil your weekend by spending it up at the loo,use puraclean.

You can use Milton we do fill all the system as normal, leave for one hour then do it again with fresh water.puriclean is used by many and very good.

But OP asks for cleaning without sterilising?

If OP is afraid of damaging filter it can be bypassed or removed before running through sterilising fluid.

Just got back and all was ok but we left for the weekend so I didnt get to see your replies. But I will get some puriclean before we go again and do it on site.
