Hi all for some reason my water is draining back in to my barrel so evertime i come to use the water it takes a while to come threw again, any ideas why this is happening.<img align="absmiddle" src="forum_images/smiley6.gif" width="17" alt="17">
I'd suspect that you have a non-return valve fitted behind the water inlet, which has failed and causing the return flow of water.
Of the two types of water system fitted in caravans, a pressurised system would normally detect this problem and run the pump to compensate where as a system that uses micro-switches on the taps would behave similar to your description.
The non-return valve is fairly easy to locate and replace, and could look something like this:
Thanks i know what it is now, i removed the non return valve because it was leaking you only had to touch it and it would come off, ill get a new one, thank you very much
I had this problem. I changed the non-return valve to a spring loaded one. However, this didn't drain fully and froze. Unbelievably, it wasn't even the non-return valve that was faulty. Where the water inlet connects to the caravan is another small non-return valve and tiny cracks in one side if a sealing ring were the cause if my water draining back. So, if your attempt fail, try the little black sealing ring inside the caravan water inlet.
The non return valve would be located somewhere on the cold feed
to the boiler, the water sounds as if it is backfeeding into the aquaroll and
the non return valve will need replacing.
Kind Regards
