Some friends of ours are purchasing one of these in the next couple of weeks any comments would be much appreciated? Also does anyone have the specification on this van especially sizes for awnings.

Many Thanks

Hi Kaz,

We have recently bought a 1998 Abi Dalesman 520 ET. We are really pleased with it and can't really fault it. It is comfortable, well laid out and has plenty of storage and a large comfy bed.  Ours was in really good nick and had obviously been well looked after. We are of to Europe in August for a 12 month tour so I am hoping that I feel the same way about it when we return!!

The Specs that I have ( bearing in mind it is a 1998, not sure if anything changed between 97-98) are

Body Length 5.91m  19'5"        Shipping Length 6.81 22' 4"

Overall width 2.16m 7'1" ( common)  Overall height  2.53m 8'4" (Common)

Max Permitted Nose Load 75kg                Awning Length 9.2m

Hope this helps, if you need any more specs just let me know.

Julie

Hi Julie,

I wondered if you could shed any light on the main lights in the living room area switch??
I’ve bought a 520et as a Reno project and I am having trouble locating the light switch for the main lights 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes the poster’s intention to travel in Europe for a year dates the thread back to the days of freedom of movement for Brits in the EU. Caravans of that age often had the switches on the light fittings themselves rather than separately on the wall.

Correct Billy, I have a 97 Dalesman and the lights on the roof(12v) have a switch built in.
