We used the motormover to hookup the van with no problems, then we reengaged when we got to the site and it will only go backwards, not forwards or sideways. Anyone experienced this before or can advise as need to get off the site on Sunday! Thanks in advance.

If all the cables are ok it might be the handset. What make is the mover?
It might be worth phoning the manufacturer and asking their advice as I doubt that you will be able to get anyone to come and have a look over the weekend.

There should be a control box inside the caravan where the motor mover cables are connected to but it all depends on the brand of mover you have fitted as they may function differently. The mover on my caravan is a Powrtouch Evolution which there is a series of lights on top of the blue box that indicates the function and to identify any faults. If all the lights are reading correctly then you can eliminate the control box being at fault which the most likely cause then is the handset itself.

If your control box inside caravan has lights as Tango has said, try this procedure. With rollers off tyres go inside caravan with controller. Press the forwards button and see if a light shows on the control box. If no light then looks as though the remote is the problem. If light come on the box but you cannot hear or see the rollers turning then it will be a faulty relay in the control box or an internal fuse inside it.

The motor mover does spin on the wheel so that would suggest handset then?

If the motor is working when the button on the remote is pressed then the handset is working. Does the motor work forwards and backwards when the roller is off the tyres.

If the rollers turn both directions but when on tyres do not drive,the gap in between them and the tyre is to great,and cause them to slip.When the rollers are off the tyres the gap on most makes should be 20mm. If not correct they will slip on tyres. Will need chassis clamps undoing and moving nearer to tyres then tightening up again.
If they don’t turn when on the tyres the leisure battery must be flat. No enough volts to to turn under load.

Because rollers are not on the dead centre line of the tyre, therefore it has more grip turning one way than the other.

I Often have this when tyres are wet, will drive one way but not the other when it slips..They rollers are never dead centre on tyres due to suspension when wheels move up and down.

Handbrake fully off? Auto reversing brakes are weaker in one direction, so would allow backwards but not forwards.
