We have had our Powrwheel motor mover for about 10+ years .
The remote control we have had from the beginning stopped working this morning .I changed the battery and it still wouldn't work .So I took the new battery out a few times and re-inserted it after about 4 attempts it worked .But having tried it again a number of times since it does not work ie the LED lights do not come on .
Is it likely I will need a new remote control given the age of the existing one ?
I would get in touch with Powrtouch if I were you.
I imagine they will be the best to advise.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Make sure the contacts where Battery sits are not oxidised. I only ever use Duracell after once fitting a new Battery and would not work. Then fitted another and the same. Put a Duracell in and worked. Also had this very same thing with a Stair Lift Remote control, Changed to a Duracell and still working 2 years later.
I found with our remote, I needed some packing at the bottom of the battery to make the battery contacts actually reach those in the remote. You could test this by leaving the battery compartment lid off and pushing the battery firmly into place. I haven’t needed to change a battery since..
Sure it’s not the box? We had this problem and found it was the box which you can send away and they repair it. We were lucky enough to find it was under warranty and repaired free of charge. It was on the van when we bought it. Excellent service.
