Hi all, newbies to caravaning but not tenting. Everything bought for our first venture in the new van next week (friday), new duvets and covers for us and kids, but what to do with the actual duvets when we come home (obviously I will take covers off to wash them) - do people leave them in the caravan or take them home to store? will they get damp if left in the caravan? Advice please!!!

We take the duvet covers and pillowcases off, wash them then put the duvets and pillows back in, then store them in the van, same with towels and tea towels, never had a problem with damp, haven't got room to store in the house so for us it's the only way

I wash bedding as normal and put the quilts and pillows in a big vacuum bag.

Hi us too except we have fixed bunks so hang the two kids duvets over the bunks and spread ours our on the front bed when in storage, and just leave pillows on beds.

Another vote for leaving in the van - until we bed the van down for the winter, then we bring the duvets and some other bits and pieces back home.

We might try some of those roll-up vacuum bags you can get in Argos and Amazon - keeps the air out, and any winter moisture. In which case we can leave the duvets in the van all year.

Yep leave them in the van in summer, in winter I bring them home and store them under the kids beds.

We bring them home, wash them and use them on our own twin divans so they are used all year round. We stopped buying 2 sets of things quite a few years ago. This way we get the best value out of them. Goes with most other things also.

Microwave-Remoska- Halogen cooker all used at home & away in c.van.

I suppose ours is a wash an wear home.
