I lOve it because I am taking my second home with me, my bedding, my cookin/dining gear, I know it is clean, I can come & go as I please, eat, sleep & get up when I want without cleaners wanting to clean & make bed. I have various gardens and different scenery to open the door to in morning.
If I don't like it anymore I just move on & enjoy another area. I meet & speak to new people from all walks of life. Apart from getting there & pitch cost you can live as cheaply or costly as you want or can afford.
I can honestly say I have enjoyed my holidays in caravan much more than any holiday previous. There is always someone to talk to if you wish, if you don't you can just politely say hello, good morning, lovely day etc and carry on as you wish.
I love it because I can take my dogs, its all my own stuff so I know its clean and at least it'll be my own dust and dirt, I love just getting away and not thinking about anything, I love it because its time out for me and the OH from busy lives and schedules.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
NORMAL = AVERAGE. average people, you know nice people. not mad and not boring. just middle of the roadish. NICE PEOPLE. people you can spend time with
i think,, erm,, hard to say. wish i had'nt said NORMAL now..
After 15 years away we are returning to caravanning. Before it was just a cheap way of having a holiday with a young family. We bought our original van 2nd hand in 1986, new cushions and upholstery, new curtains, it did us for 10 year. We sold it for the same price we bought it! No great love affair!
Now......now I know what I love about caravanning, or am going to love. We have been tenting for the past few years and no sooner do we get pitched that we start watching the end of week weather to see if we are going to be able to stay the whole week or need to de-pitch early if inclement weather is approaching. We will put the tent up in the rain and down, but it's a nightmare if it's windy. Out polycotton tent could lift us both off the ground if caught by a gust of wind while not pegged down.

Love staying away from home with family for 'buttons' compared to Thompson (etc) style holidays. Plus we can go where we want, when we want. Wave goodbye to sat - sat only holidays, poor quality hotels, rubbish quality 'package tour' / 'all inclusive' hotel restaraunts, being treated like cattle, smallest-seats-in-the-known-world on aircraft that you must book in hours before you leave etc. Love the outdoor nature of camping. Love UK tv in Europe. Love cooking outside on the bbq. Love the company of my beloved family.
------------- Why am i doing this instead of camping??!!
All of the above for me too, however one of the things I enjoy is Bank Holidays and our trips to France in the summer with the van. Our 3 daughters all who grew up with loving caravanning and all their trips away with us, now enjoy us all being together for a day or two over the bank holidays, just so they can 'be on site with the caravan' and relive being away with the caravan experience. My daughters now 21, 24 and 32 with the husbands and boyfriends including the two grandchildren all come along for a family day together and we can be in Norwich or the New Forest. Some stay in the van /awning with us, some at a local nearby hotel. I know those treasured family days centre around their love of caravanning and the fun of being on site.
i just love not having that hustle and bustle of everyday living .time to yourself to do what you want when you want and just litterally pleasing yourself for a change
