michael, Problem over, the penny finally dropped. Whilst in my van there is nothing resembling the separate switch shown in the various information sheets published by Carvers there is, situated on the bedside by the wardrobe a switch which matches the description given by Carver of that to the immersion heater and upon close inspection of the main electric control panel included is the switch and three indicator lights appertaining to the Carver 2EG. Many thanks for your interest. I still have hopes that we have members still using what I consider to be a future classic.
