Is it just us...when we are away our awning looks like steptoe's yard: how do some caravanners have their awnings looking like palaces? At home we are tidy... what are we doing wrong!!!!

We have a table with a table cloth, a little table lamp on for the evenings and a vase of flowers during the day. All my curtains I keep back in the tie backs and chairs that match the color of our van
Ok, in reality a table with my slow cooker on when were on hook up, a million pairs of shoes and boots, chairs that double as clothes airers and of course my little dog
i take a clothes airer landytrax but they still end up in the chairs .wardrobe come store room everything goes in it but it still seems to be untidy most of the time

Don't worry our also ends up like a reclamation yard, and a dry cleaners, I do try honestly to keep it tidy, but fail, but hey I'm on holiday.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.

I can never get an awning looking tight as a drum. How ever hard I try it still looks like tumble down mountain, all floppy.
Hi boris54,
Try opening the top zips on side panels right across and say, 4 inches down whilst you tighten the roof poles, it takes some of the strain out of the roof fabric then rezip, works for me.
I thought this thread was going to be about putting an awning up.
I used to think it was anything but heaven to put up but since we got a lightweight "Outdoor Revolution" my views have changed.
Full heavyweight awning = hell.
We had a "caravan store " canopy which was fine, then we got the fancy "zip" which was back to hell so sold that one on and now in heaven.
