Hi I was just wondering if any of you leave things in your awnings when your not on site? I want to set up a bedroom tent for my eldest & put a fold up style bed in there & some table & chairs in the awning. I'm a bit weary incase these get nicked when we're not there. The site has good reviews but no one on a seasonal pitch has put in a review. The site is Whitehill country park, has anyone had a seasonal pitch here?
We have had a seasonal pitch for 2 seasons now at Upwood caravan park in West Yorkshire and we always leave things in the awning. Last year there was a table, 4 chairs and a blow up sofa as well as the gas bbq we use on site.
I would not be worried about leaving things as most people do and you are all in the same boat.
I wouldn't worry, we are going seasonal this year and will be leaving cane suite, microwave, fridge freezer and other bits in the awning. Going seasonal for us is about cost and convenience. I dont want to be setting up every time we go. I would also say that caravans are not exactly secure, so if somebody wants to get in and steal things they can.so for me leave it in the awning. It has good reviews whitehill, we were going to go in summer to see family who live in Devon. But decided on tavistock at last minute. I am sure the kids will like the outdoor pool, if the sun shines!!!!!
we also have a seasonal at upwood park, and we leave pretty much everything in ours, we always move the telly when we leave but everything else stays, inc fridge,microwave, sofas ,bikes,the list goes on,
dont get too worried, but if its a site like trish and ours,only leave things in you can easily replace for cheap in case a hurricane rips through your awning!!
I lost an all season awning at the beginning of the year to a storm and know several others that have too. Two sets of storm straps didn't make any difference and when the thing finally went it also caused some small damage to the van.
