Sadly, with the situation at home deteriorating parent wise we have had to come to the decision to sell our caravan. No point letting it sit around unused, we only managed 17 nights last year making it uneconomical to continue.
I have advertised it on here, preloved and freeads, anybody have any other suggestions for good coverage?
I thought the same as Tenz when I put ours on ebay in October but it sold within a couple of weeks. I now reckon "when" is not so important as getting the price and ad right.
We also sold our caravan as it was just sitting there as we didn't get away too much year before last cos of looking after parents. We sold ours on ebay as a last resort but worked out well. We got the money we wanted for it and the chap came and was very pleased with it. We sold it end of February.

When we sold ours we got a little interest in the free ads, preloved and gumtree, then we put it on eBay and sold it within 1week.
Just put plenty pictures, a good eye catching write up and do it as a buy it now or best offer, you then have control of how much you sell for.
Expect a few silly offers from chancers but eventually you will get some sensible buyers, I think most people look on eBay first when looking for caravans.
Maybe leaving it a month or so as most people are skint after Christmas
All the best

Im sorry to hear that circumstances are forcing you to give up your much loved hobby
We sold our last caravan via a small add in the Caravan Club magazine, we were very lucky in that the very first person to view it bought it, so well woth the cost of placing the advert.

we tried auto trader, gumtree and a couple of caravan web sites to try and sell ours we had no interest after 6 weeks then put a classified ad on ebay and had three people contact us with in a week and we sold it plus the benifit of classified you know hoe much you have to pay out to ebay
I wouldn't worry about selling it through Ebay Ali, I advertised our last one on here and after having little honest interest I avertised ot on Ebay in a Classified ad, was as clear as I could be with the description & sold it to the first couple (lovely people too) to turn up to view it. They paid in cash before towing it away & job done.
I spent a lot of money in advertising in the transport magazines when I changed my last lorry, I then stuck it on Ebay in a classified ad and again, sold it to the first genuine caller.
Obviously neither would have been handed over unless full cleared payment was in my account but that would have been the same situation no matter where they'd been advertised.
As far as time of year is concerned, the way I see it is that as long as someone who is looking to buy spots a genuine deal at th right price it'll sell.
