yep you have not switched the internal switch to CARAVAN ,it is the position it should be in when used on site ,it will either say caravan or have a caravan symbol beside the position it should be in .
i.e they are usually 3 position switches caravan only, caravan and car (for towing) or off (usually in the middle)
Now ...we have a control panel above the door..all press button and LED ..!!!! Its very confusing ..it says in book ...key with led to connect/disconnect van battery..if charger is not working and the van battery is not connected the system will go off..well it was connected...we havent disconected it ..but it ssys on display it isnt connected !!! I have a bad feeling it is something faulty..

I quite agree with black fox and the switch is actually called a rocker switch which has three positions, central being neutral (nothing) and then rocks either way to either switch to car (when towing) and the opposite way to 'caravan' which it should be on the same if hooked up to EHU on site. If it's switched to either car or central position then this most likely to be the problem. If you have a manual for the caravan as it should explain in there.
Some are auto sensing. Ours switches from 'van to car when plugged into the car, but it still has a separate charger on/off switch. Could the charger have got switched off and the battery drained?
Al -Mel ..Im hoping that is what has happened...Ive Retraced Hook up ..pushed plug in securely...will take another look in the morning....but ive been reading horror stories about faulty chargers on Swift caravans..... The fact it was showing fully charged and is now empty..Im hoping the alarm has sucked it all out..although it will take some time to show any charge wont it ?...

Do you have a analogue (moving needle meter) if so it should now be showing 13 volts ,the same really if digital readout.
You may have drained the battery but only if you left something switched on to drain it,if you can get it to charge now you will probably save it ,this is why lots of us remove our batteries for the winter and charge them in the garage.
I,m certain this is user error though and just needs the switch set up properly
If you have drained it completely it should show a few volts straight away then rise overnight ,if by chance you have dropped it to far then it's probably a new battery needed as they are not supposed to drop below 11.5 volts and lots will not retain a charge once flattened
Cant remove battery as the phantom tracker wont work..that is why we have left it on and connected to elec...i just have this horrible feeling it is some fault with the charger... mind you if battery is showing no voltage why havent i been contacted by alarm company...but then if im still plugged into elec that could be feeding it...looking exspensive then if gok v to need new battery as well..only had it home about 3 weeks...fancy buying a fajlty van !!!

you could buy a small meter and connect it to the battery leads with the battery in place.it should read 13.5 to 14 volts on the meter when connected to the EHU lead.only cost about £7.if it does not then the charger is not charging.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Thing is if hook up lead had tripped we wouldnt be getting power in the can would we ..and we have..i wish i understood it all..not having used it all its very confusing...awww i need a man who does ..

Has the green charger light been switched off on the consumer unit by accident? I did this and also left the ariel booster switched on and had a flat battery. Nothing therefore came up on the led display.I was lucky the battery was ok after a charge.
could the fridge switch have been put on "battery" if so this would discharge the battery in a couple of hours, there may be a sensing circuit in place to prevent this from hapening though.
