Being a Newby, and having used the Van for the third time over the Recent Half Term,I am wondering whether its worth me getting 2 aquarolls,As most of the Vans on site Had 2!!
Im just worried about storage, and the Weight Factor when Towing.
Can any of you Kind Fellas give me your excellent advice as Per Usual??
If one is enough, your fine. Should you be running across the field at all hours to fetch water you need two. If ever you need two you will go and buy one. Carrying an extra one just because others do, forget it.
As for weight, you should be travelling with them empty. 40L about 4 kg' As caravans come in all shapes and sizes we all have our own tinpot way of fitting them in. As they are big but light weight, front or back is favorite as the heavy stuff is in the middle over the axle.
Your caravan, your holiday, your way

2are handy when using the shower on a cl site with no facilities or as previously stated in the middle of the night of when its pouring down of rain and your miles from the tap.

We use the van for showers and washing up and get by with one without a problem. Do you have an internal water tank? I fill this and re-fill the aquaroll at the start of a stay and check the level each evening.
You use the same amount of water and have the same number of trips to the tap, two just gives you the supply next to the pump when you have to change.
I have always used two water barrels for several reasons. The first is that if you are low on water and it's raining it's quicker to to exchange one over and replenish the empty one later when the rain has passed over. The second reason is because you don't have to leave your water pump dangling on the floor or have to tie it up when you refill as you just pass the pump from the empty barrel and straight into the full one so it helps keep the water pump clean at all times. You can lift up an empty barrel with your little finger so regarding the extra weight there's nothing to worry about, the main problem is the storage space needed whilst travelling. As we have the end washroom layout the empty shower cubicle has it's uses as I fit both empty barrels in there along with my wastemaster so we travel with a clutter free caravan which is ideal if you are stopping off at the services and want to make a cup of tea or use the toilet. Some people will only use one barrel because they only use the water for washing etc. so they use less whereas we use it for virtually everything because I sterilise the water system out twice a year with Puriclean so both the barrels and the water system are free from any bacteria. These are the reasons as to why I use two barrels and not that fact that I just copied anyone else but you have to do what suits you best as an individual caravanner. I will admit that the only time I ever use one barrel is if we venture out over the new year as I only have one thermal jacket for the water barrel and top up with a sterilised watering can because that's the easiest solution. The other barrel of water would probably freeze anyway if the temperatures were below zero so I just keep the empty barrel in the shower cubicle out of sight.
One here. I'm useless at remembering to check and I always end up refilling in the dark or the rain but it doesn't take long really.
We don't use the shower in the van so water needs are just for washing up and cooking. I'd rather the water was fresh so in some ways I'd prefer a smaller container
We have one roll and a 20 litre water carrier. Both get filled initially and then we use the smaller container to top up the roll. The pump gets left in place that way. The 20 litre is light enough to be carried as well.
We have always used just one and I have never had to fill up at night. I do however like Ali Girls idea of having a smaller container to top up the roll.
People only usually use one 'Wastemaster' or 'Waste Hog' as they take up too much storage space in the caravan plus a Wastemaster won't need emptying as often as a water barrel needs refilling.
I have 2 but only because an extra one came with our caravan. I find the second one handy but never felt I was missing out with 1. I would not buy another if one got lost.

Just curious
Do the people with two Aquarolls have two wastemasters as well?
I use 2 barrels of water to one wastemaster fill...
ok, mine are the smaller waterhogs, but still, usually get 24hrs from a barrel of water with a shower.
still use 2 though...
