Hi all. I put a new battery on my van last week. I have left the van plugged in as I leave the heat on low. I went in tonight and the voltage is on about 10.5v but the charger has not kicked in, should it have come on by now? I think maybe the charger has packed in.

According to my chart 11.90v = 0% charged. So yours is as flat as a flounder.
Could the charger have got switched off?

the battery charger will work as soon as the EHU is plugged in .sounds like a faulty battery charger for sure.check all fuses first.------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Our last 'van and the current one have Plug-In Systems chargers and both have charger switches on the PDU, with instructions to "connect to hookup before turning charger on".
(Last 'van was a Lunar Solar 524. Current one Fleetwood Heritage 640 EB).

see battery charging
http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/helpandadvice/technicalhelp/datasheets/
Looking after your Leisure Battery
Check the state of
charge using a direct
current voltmeter –
12.7 volts indicates a
fully charged battery,
12.3 volts it’s half
discharged and
anything less than
11.8 volts the battery
has fully discharged.

Just took the EHU out and plugged it back In. Still no joy so I took the battery fuse out and tripped the RCD and it started charging, so maybe it is somthing to do with the way it has to be hooked up and switched on as Al+mel said. I'll have a look into it. Thanks guys.
