Well we have turned to the dark side and purchase our very first caravan from a fc. First outing this weekend and wondering how many rows we will have I have warned the campsite we are new and asked for the biggest, easiest pitch. Let's hope the weather improves for us

Hi hope all goes well, weather does look a little dryer for most of the country. Remember to take your time and we found the best way was to have a plan of who does what and get into a routine.....hopefully not too many fallouts that way. The Uk campsite forum has some lists and first timer advice.............ENJOY and let us know how you get on

We moved from a tent, to trailer tent, to caravan, with a view to doing the - arrive, legs down, beer open (or kettle on) but I think no matter what you have it can take a fair while to get 'settled'. It can be that quick, but with water, sky dish, awning and so on and you're an hour or so later!
Hope you have a good outing, we too changed from a Fc to Caravan this year due to bad weather and fed up always getting a wet pack down. Have managed 2 weekends in the caravan so far this year and really loved it. So hope you do too
Try not to worry and take your time is all i can suggest. If you set out with a plan of who is doing what there should be no arguing ( no promises there lol) and it will get done in no time. But most important enjoy yourselfs!
------------- even caravan owners need loving so please be patient when behind me! do forgive me for driving so close to the front of your car!!
Hope you enjoy your first trip out and that the weather is kind but it may help on your first time out to make a list of what to do when you arrive and another for when you leave too. It's amazing just how silly things get left like accidentally forgetting to close the roof vent or skylight before departure so a check list should help avoid any arguments. Happy caravanning.
Hubby tends to start with the outside jobs & I do the inside and then we get together to do the awning. After a few trips you soon get into a routine. Have fun!!!!
enjoy ,we did the same this year ,just keep calm ,take your time and if our first week of returning to caravanning was anything to go by we are a helpful lot
Have fun :D we are off Saturday for a week in Brighton. Don't worry about anything, just enjoy yourselves x

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
Just enjoy! We too changed from fc to caravan this year. Another vote for one inside one out. Far less rows in the van!! No wet pack up or drying out on the drive. Bliss
My darling daughter Upsydaisy, never have so many been so involved with a weekend away. One set of parents minding child, cleaning house, buying caravan equipment. The other set of parents minding dog, organising the caravan wash and wax and returning caravan key.
I do hope you enjoy your time in your, new to you, tin tent and that you have many years of happy caravanning.
In addition, we wish you well on bonfire night, your tenth wedding anniversay. Dynamite and matches join together on this night at least, to make a spectacular display of shock and awe, to entertain many.
Currently sat in my cozy tin tent, managed to get the fite working but not the hot water yet. Will tackle that in the morning. Site looks good from what I can see in the dark. Yes mum, help from both sets f parents very much appreciated

Blimey in the time we have been caravanning we have never been able to get the fite working. You must have picked it up so quickly. Enjoy yourself. Whatever you do remember its not a race, its as long as it takes....
