I have changed the caravan and now need to sell awnings where is the best place to advertise
Bradcot Active full awning in Green, also a have a portico plus same colour both used on an Abbey stafford and both with alloy poles very good condition
I suppose E-Bay is one possibility although they seem to charge a lot for selling awnings unless I put mine in the wrong section. I did sell mine but did not make on once I paid the fees. Shame as it was in perfect condition.
'Preloved' is probably the best place to place an advert for an awning due to the fact that there are no selling fees involved plus it goes out to a wider audience in comparison to selling in the local paper etc. I placed an advert on 'Ebay' auction for a Bradcot Sport which was in mint condition with a starting bid of £85. It sold for £108 but by the time I had paid the insertion fees and final selling fees via 'Paypal' I ended up with less than the original starting price. I have had more luck selling on Preloved than I ever have on Ebay so that is the root I would go for starters and see how you get on. We were after a Bradcot full awning in green size 900 cms. about 18 months ago because they are a good make but couldn't find one anywhere within 150 miles so had to buy a new one from Dorema in their factory clearance sale.
The secret to selling awnings, anywhere. is to reach all of the potential buyers...not just the two in ten who know what they want , but also the other8 poor dithering confused souls.....so give the measurements and also a bit of a list of the vans it should fit. Put some extras ins -- ie a promise of a picture of how to put it up . and a willingness to write on it in discrete places such things as.."front" "Right window " " top" ... A buyer.(and still not sure)
Ebay probably reaches most potential customers who in the case of a specific size awning might be quite limited. Important to describe size accurately obviously & also as many photos as possible. The last one I flogged on ebay sold ok. I only had one pic of it on the caravan but I took pics of all the parts laid out on the grass, about 9 pics in all.
