We do not have built in aerial

We have a very old ariel the type with centre bar and shorter bars sticking out either side (as you can tell I am not technical when it comes to ariels)

We also have a sat dish.  This I thought was going to be the answer to our prayers but isn't.

We have a free sat box and the normal TV.

My question is, what do you suggest as the best type of ariel.  My husband spends lots of time trying to get a signal and when he does, some stations break up, lots you cannot even get and sometimes you'll get them one night and they have gone the next night.

As this ariel is very old could that be the problem?

Any advice would be welcome

I got a cheapo standard type aerial with pole for the caravan.  Got an extension, in case of poor reception.  It`s fine.sticks up about 2 or 3 feet above roof level.  I drop it down a bit in a gale. . .

Sorry going off the point, yes do realise have to have as free sat box for the dish and yes we have one.  What I meant to say was, you still often have a problem locating the sat, especially if trees are around.

Hubby has now gone for the Avtex as suggested by Jax as someone else we know has one and they reckon they can always get a picture.
