Most important if considering an older one is to check underneath for rust in steel square tube chassis members, they run out from centre chassis & run all around edge of bottom of body. Not difficult but it does entail lying down under 'van. Any bad rot in chassis members then avoid as repairs are very time consuming so not worth it at commercial rates. Loads of older Eribas in excellent condition so not worth considering a rough one.
Prices are inflated as owners believe they are worth much more than they actually are. Best place to buy is ebay but inspect 'van as described before parting with money.
When I viewed the Eribas down at the NEC show a few years back, I was quite amazed how small they were inside, but that was because I was comparing the Eriba to a regular caravan, and of course they are a different ball of wax altogether, although despite the small internals, this did not put me of them.
What did suprise me is that even with the roof down, the van still comes in at over 2m in height, so they are now of my wish list as I was contemplating a van that would go free on the French autoroutes, for that I have the Trigano Silver Pop-Top range in my sights.
Only the Puck comes in below 2mtres. Prices for newer Eribas are also ridiculous & build quality is claimed to be not so good for 'vans built this century. The UK dealers source them in France/Holland/Germany & a look at continental dealer websites will find cheaper prices if they want to go this route.
If they are spending a lot they need to be very certain they want this size of caravan. They do tow like a dream tho, due to aerodynamic shape. In theory an Eriba should last indefinitely so they are good if its what they want & it is the last caravan they will ever buy.
