We are considering a new/nearly we 6 berth caravan and naturally want as much for our money as possible. I was wondering which makes give quite good spec etc for reasonable prices.

We are off to the NC next month, but just wanted a idea of which makers are renowned for value for money.

I'm no expert but from our trip to the caravan show in Feb, Adria was the only make being any cheaper than the main brands (Bailey, Swift etc).

However, as always, you pays your money - Adria's did not have sprung cushions, for example, and some of the fittings felt a bit more fragile than the equivalent Bailey - but it was £5k cheaper!!

You're doing the right thing going to the show - great way of comparing vans in close proximity without an annoying saleperson breathing down your neck.

Just remember that if you purchase a new van at the show from a dealer who is hundreds of miles away you may have to go back to him for any warranty work as any local dealerships close to home are not obliged to do the work and may well refuse because you didn't buy from them .
A couple of long distance warranty repair trips and the £1000 or whatever you save soon gets eaten up in fuel cost's
