At the moment we are on holiday with our new pup Yorkshire Terrier he is nine weeks old and never been in the caravan or for that matter a car before,he was no problem with the traveling down 200 miles and at home he was toilet trained but in the van it seams to have confused him a little we have to keep a eye on him all the time but he is getting their and he is loving the holiday.Ian

We are going in our new (to us) caravan for the weekend and our 2 mini dachshunds are coming, this will be the first time for all of us to go in the van we use to camp before we sold the tent.
Glad she was a good girl and I hope she's all better now.
Took my tiny jack russel x yorkie away this summer in our caravan and she loved it. She even chose her own spot on the seat where we then put a blanket for her and we never heard a peep out of her, she was so good
Think she also misses the beach and whenever I go out to our caravan to get something she runs straight to the step and waits for me to open the door so she can jump in
Glad she enjoyed her trip ( sorry she got sick though)
My two especially the little one, cannot wait to go away, as soon as I go in the van with clothes the dancing starts lol, and when OH brings it to the front of the house to hitch it up, oh dear she's crying and jumping and running around in circles, and gets up on the window seat and just watches and makes a squeak sound, she cannot wait to go away at all, and when we are there she just sits on the back of the seats looking out the window, even my rescue who I've only had for 7 months has worked out the caravan means good times , it didn't take her long to feel at home in the van, not bad for a five year old dog who spent all those years in a barn at a puppy farm, she soon realized life is good bless her :)

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
We are going away this weekend for a week to Banbury and it will be the first trip with our kitten who is 14 weeks old.
I am quite nervous about it but I have had her in a harness since we got her (not all the time LOL) and we have lots of things for her including one of those corkscrew things and a long leash.
Hopefully she will be ok for the 5 hour trip, I am thinking about getting some calming tablets from the vet for her.
Has anyone used these for thier pets and are they worth it?

We got our dog about the same time as the caravan (4 years ago) so he was brought up with frequent caravan trips. He does the usual thing of following me everywhere when the packed bags appear in the kitchen so he doesn't get forgotten!
For the first time last weekend we left him at my mothers whilst we went away for 3 nights(had days out planned where dogs were not allowed). We had to sneak the bags out of the house without him seeing them.
My mum said whilst at her house, he followed her into the front garden and he just sat staring at her neighbours caravan!!
It didn't seem quite the same without him.

I've got to leave mine in February , we are going away to see a show and it's easier to take the van, but it means we can't take the dogs, so they are staying at home with my son, goodness knows how they will be when we drive of without them
