Hi

I am looking into buing a porch awning.
The one we most like at the moment is the Dorema Magnum 260.
Our local dealers don't have this on display so I can't checkout the quality.
What do you owners think of this porch awning?

http://www.dorema.co.uk/magnum-260-390.php

Not seen this one but have seen Dorema main awning and they hava a good reputation with them. Would they want it spoilt with by making a  trashy lightweight one. I would not of thought so as it would run over to the canvas type ones.Just my own thoughts though.

I could not afford one so I bought the next best thing for us and it was a Ventura cadet. by Isabella but canvas not the nylon type.

I googled my one and got a lot up North have you tried to google it and check where there is one nearer you.

I've got a starcamp 390 lightweight  awning and I have had no problems with it  it even stood up to 70 mph gales in brighton and only broke a couple of the plastic rings the guy ropes attached to.

Looking good so far
I like the idea of the raised vents above the front windows like on a Montana 6 tent I owned.

Doug

Will the awning stand without guys, or are they required for rigidity?

Thanks

We have (had) a Kampa Rally which has steel poles. You will def. need guys and possibly straps if they are available.
You will need to anchor the awning well.

We have the magnum 260 and it's a decent awning but i would look elsewhere if cost is not an issue.

You will need to use guy ropes but it doesn't have any clips to fit a storm kit.

We have found the mud flaps at the bottom can blow inwards and leave a gap and also the upper inner pole can cause water to pool above the pole.

We want to go for a lightweight awning, that's why we are considering the Magnum 260.
Is yours the current version or an older model?
Are there any alternatives anyone could recommend over the magnum 260?
We also looked at the Kampa Rally 260 but were put off by the heavier looking poles, and the fact they charge extra for the poles to butt upto the van.

Ours is the current version.

We had looked at the kampa rally as it seemedto be well recommended.
