My Lunar Quasar 615 has a flat roof and when it rains the rain water tends to pool on the top of the van. Having just resealed the rear quarter of the awning rail (following damp) I am now paranoid about water getting into the van. Surely if it's sitting on top of the van there is a chance it will eventually seep into the van via the awning rails, roof vents, etc.
When my van sits level the water tends to pool at the back of the van where there is a metal strip joining the rear plastic section of the of the van with the main roof. Again I am afraid that the pooled water will eventually get in.
I wav recently been storing the caravan with the front as far down as possible and the back as far up. This generally works and most of the water runs off the front of the van. Again with the torrential Scottish rain the front rail and windows are taking a hammering with constant streaming water running down them.
I am contemplating splashing out £400 on a good quality cover. The covers claim to be fully waterproof so the rain should in theory run off them and leave the van dry underneath. This would give me a huge piece of mind. I am a bit puzzled though as the water will still sit on the roof of my van even if it has a cover. I take it the cover will stop the water getting through to the exterior roof of the van even if there is pooled water sitting on it?
I also had this problem so i used to open roof vents to push up cover and create a slope. I could do this because van was on my driveway and i could check regular. IF not could you not put padded box of some type on roof under cover to get same effect.
Think ur getting a wee bit paranoid.Ive had vans with a dip on the roof and had no problems unless uve got major dips caused with someone jumping on the roof ?.I would not lower your van at the front as your causing the water to concentrate on one area.I guess no matter what is said your still going to worry like in your post.A cover will help but,are you going to cover it when your away ? just enjoy your van..and stop worrying about "what if "..
the van is best left level as water can fall away quicker.concentrating rain water onto a window or set of windows could cause them to leak.also if the van is leaning forward and there is a heavy downpour of water onto the roof it can flood and enter your large skylight because these are not sealed.we have sat at keswick and watched the front windows turn into a waterfall.

Our Challenger does the same. I use a cover, not an expensive one though, just the usual type. I also park with the front a low as possible to stop pooling. Not had any issues & the van always comes out of the cover as clean as it went under, so its doing its job.
Use a cover on mine over the winter, and leave it slightly sloped and not level. It works fine that way.
When you're away it needs to be level, so you just have to put up with the pooling! You could get a squeegee thing to push off the pools of water when it stops raining?
We had this on one of our vans and always pitched with it slightly higher in the front. Not too much or you will be walking up hill. But just enough to let rain water run off.
We still pitch our van slightly higher in the front. I think it is better when it rains.
