Hi, the wife and I are looking at reasonably priced second hand twin axle van. There seem to be a few of the below, but we quite like either the Bailey pageant Loire series 7 and the Elddis avante 626. Happily there are a few of both around. Has anyone got any experience of these please?
Hi Tony B, we don't have a Loire but do have a Pageant Series 7 and we love it. That series is the same width as the Senator and the extra 4 inches make a big differance especially in our shower. Also has Alko ATC and suspension dampers as standard and tows like a dream.
Sorry to hijack tony, but pickled onion how do you find your burgundy? Looks like ( fingers crossed) we've sold our van, and have seen a S6 burgundy, and I love it, I know yours is the S7 but are comparable, is it good for being in, living space ect, we've had a 2 berth big end washroom before so this will be a compromise on the loo ect , but the fixed bed and space it offers seems worth it, can't go for that layout and with end bathroom as it then becomes a bit heavy for the car.I like to keep in the 85% .
Sorry again Tony, hope that's ok :)

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
We have the S7 Loire and absolutely love it. However, our kids are now refusing to come caravanning with us and we are planning to change it for something different (probably a motorhome). We haven't actually been out in it since it's last service.
It's light, airy, spacious and (according to my husband) easy to tow. We bought it at Lady Bailey in Dorset and have had it from new. It's still in mint condition. It even still smells new(!) and has a Truma mover fixed to it. It can be sold with navy blue full and porch awnings, both in fantastic condition and two different types of awning carpets which fit the large awning.
We're in Weymouth so if you want to come and have a look at it please let me know, although I don't know how to let you have my contact details without telling the UK Campsite world!
No problems Murano. Thanks PO, seem to be a few to choose from at the dealers, but the same for the other two or three manufacturers that produce these.
We looked at the end bathroom models, but prefer to keep the seating area to the side.
The plan is kids on singles at the front and us at the back. But when the kids and wife are asleep in the morning, whichever adult wakes up has somewhere to sit and have a coffee, read paper etc.
Both kids are getting older now, so we did consider the bathroom area for changing etc for all, but this comes at the cost of the side dinet. However, there is just about enough changing room in these bathrooms, but there is the divide for the rear bedroom which can be used for a little privacy.
Must admit though, would prefer the rear bathroom, but not at the cost of the side dinet.
Hi Murano, and sorry too Tony B for any interferrence with your orininal post.
We are really chuffed with the Burgundy as we particularly like the open feel of the layout and fixed bed is terrific. S 6 differs slightly from ours, window is in toilet and not next to w/h basin in bedroom like ours. Thought end washroom was for us but everything a little too cramped to get it in and we use on-site facilities anyway. Strangely Bailey don't do a similar layout to the Burgundy now.
No worries Tony. Have to admit the side dinette is a godsend when you have kids. They can stay in bed whilst you still have somewhere to sit and have a morning cup of tea!
Hi Midge, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We've been trying to sort out a car to tow this size of van with. The current one wont do it.
We could be a few good couple of weeks doing this, so I wouldn't recomend hanging around for us. However, if you've still got it when we've sorted ourselves out, how can I contact you directly to discuss viewing and price?

Hi Tony. Haven't been on UKCampsite for a few days and only just saw yr msg. We still have it at the moment but have had some interest. When I know how to get in touch without broadcasting my contact details to all and sundry I'll get in touch!
The storage deal ends soon and we have a chance of a nice motorhome that we hope to get. Cant really have a caravan and a motorhome...... no room to keep them both !
Can also arrange delivery if need be (for a small fee of course )
We love the motorhome we have found and managed to sort a deal out, but that deal runs out soon. Quite rightly the friend of ours who is selling it cant hang on forever
We are having one last go at selling our Series 7 Loire. Would love to see it go to a good home where it will be enjoyed as much as we have,so reduced the price to an absolute bargain of £10500 ovno.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
