We downsized to a two berth, because DS no longer came to a two berth, really lovely end bathroom ect all singing and dancing, but after one trip away, we knew we'd made a mistake, we missed the space, and then DS said what if I did want to come again!! Not that him wanting to come occasionally was the crux ( we could of stuck him in the awning) but we really did miss the space, think a bit longer before you change, as we've now changed back to a bigger van, a bit of a costly mistake, but one we are happier with.
That said what works for some doesn't for others, have fun whatever you decide :)

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
Our boys rarely come away with us now. We changed the van last October, but did not down size. We like a bit of space, so instead of bunks and a side dinette we now have a fixed bed and end shower room.
With the weather the way it is nowadays we spend a lot more time in the caravan instead of being able to sit outdoors, so retaining space was a major concern.
Oh yes forgot to say, like scarletsfan , yes we went for the fixed bed this time.....love it!

Well we have done it gone for the Sterling, Off on our last trip in Delta today down sizing was essential as we are selling the Discovery to downsize to an estate. So on Sunday got the wonderful task of emptying the delta and deciding what we actually need to put in the Diamond when we hopefully pick it up next week
Don't do it .
We down sized and now just three years later up sized. So think carefully. Even thou we have just up sized I am still not happy with my choice.
If I could turn the clock back I would look at the fixed bed 4 berth but not an end bath room they make the vans too big but the ones that have toilet shower in one. And hand basin opposite the sink.
It's a shame we can't try these out first. We have up sized to a fixed bed end bathroom and I am finding it too big. But don't want to go back to a 2 berth.
Don't make our mistake. It caosts a lot of money .
