Come on you guys can anyone recommend a Portable dish from a reliable source cos our digital arial is not very good and as we are getting on a bit we do like to watch the Telly in the evening.
------------- Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow
Maplins, Aldi, Lidles, all these at various times of the year have deals on suitcase sat systems ranging from around £30 to £60 I use all three and found them very good just make sure they are 12v systems
Bought a second hand one of the evil place, very pleased.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
purchased one of these the other year - Sat Dishes. Purchased this particular version as needed it to be portable for camping rather than caravan. Also went for the larger size just in case we travel to South France which will allow for a good reception.
If your only going to be needing a reception in the UK, then a smaller dish (up to 55 cm) will be sufficient; the further south you go, the larger the dish you will require. Another factor is weather - smaller dishes tend to suffer with bad weather e.g. heavy rain fall we have experienced this summer.
Simply take your mains powered sky box and hook up to the dish - works great.

blueexpo97 I bet that uses a bit of juice when you are off grid.
Thats why I use the full suitcase 12v kits, two of them are 2amp draw and one is 1.5 amp not sure if the sky boxes will work from 12v or if their boxes are 240 only as I don't have sky. I use mine for freeview and foreign tv stations
I use a 12v sky 'javelin' box that's no longer available, it was one of the original multiroom boxes. I do however use a diode to limit the voltage to 12 as it gets hot with 13v+
I got an Aldi kit for £60.00 a few months back. I use the sucker to stick it to the roof through the heki rooflight. With it being on the roof as well don't have the trouble of other caravans getting in the way or toilet blocks etc. Its been up in some pretty decent winds and not fell over as well. Its 12V and am very impressed for the money.
This is a good dish. They are usually £129.99. All you need to get is an LNB, length of satellite cable and freesat receiver, which would cost roughly £40. Everything will fit inside the case for storage.
The whole set up is roughly £80 and the dish size of 60 cm will be good for all of UK and most of France.
Although it did no damage to the caravan, defiantly peg the tripod legs to avoid it falling into the caravan or car. The maxview has holes for this in the legs, if you use a tripod without this facility peg the middle of the tripod brace via a cable tie or cord to help prevent it falling.
Decent wide spread leg tripods are stable without pegs... but do you want to risk it?
I bought the Maxview 66 cms Eliptical dish as we take our van to South of France and it works well there. Larger than we need for UK use but has the benefit that here it is a doddle to lock on to the satellite.
