I've just bought a lovely ABI transter and have been testing everything works. All was good until looking at the carver 3000 auto ignition heater, the battery holder is missing which basicaly means no heating..... Any ideas where I might get one from ?
Also as I'm new to caravaning how do I get round levelling the van on sloping and uneven ground ?
Any answeres would be gratefully received......:..
This is quite easy to level a caravan when you get on to your pitch level it side to side first I use some short planks of wood like scaffold boards do this before you unhitch,as soon as you have it level across the van then level it front to back as you unhitch using the jocky wheel
but put the hand break on before moving away easy.Ian PS not sure how you can fix heater hope this helps.

sorry I do not mean to offend. But do NOT use the corner steadies to attempt to level the caravan as this could cause damage to the chassis you can buy ready made ramps or as most do several short planks. check the level side to side before you unhitch then you can pull the van onto the ramps, unhitch, level front to back with the jocky wheel, then lower steadies
as for battery holders see http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=aa+battery+holder
Before you start the most important piece of kit you need is a circular spirit level. I always place the level on the kitchen worktop and look at it through the window outside.

Thanks for the advise on levelling guys. I think i need to get out and practice before going to a site for real.... i got sorted with my battery holder eventually although it cost me an arm and a leg. After several no's from some suppliers claiming its discontinued i came across a forum that suggested i order one for the newer model 3020 as it was the same item and sure enough it was and it came today so i'll be testing the heating tonight
