hi folks feeling crap at the moment just taken our beloved caravan to storage site ive never been on one as always stored it at home they really are awfull places seem more like a caravan grave yard ive not felt like this since i took our dog into kennels when we go abroad wife thinks im been daft .
On the plus side my caravan insurance as gone down as its a gold site
There a storage facility near me, I often drive by it, I see all the loved vans at the front and the further and further down the rows you go they get greener and greener, I often wonder are they just stored and then abandoned. What happens to them, does the storage site gain custody of them if the fees are no longer paid, and sell them off or are they just left to rot, there's even some old MH there too.

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
We took ours back to storage yesterday too - i hate leaving it there. We too can't wait til we sell our house and move to one where we can keep it at home!
Our drive looks empty today without our 'van there. Still only 3 weeks til we're away again!
at our storage site there is an old conqueror there which is green, the site owner says it was there when he bought the site ten years ago and despite his suggestions to the van owner to move it and save himself some money as it must be only fit for scrap by now the owner pays his fees every year and thats that
I dont mind leaving mine in storage but we do get her out at least every other weekend & I know she's very well looked after ..... But when we go & pick her her up I love seeing the smile on her face & her tail wagging !m sure she's as happy as we are seeing her again !!
Putting ours back into storage tomorrow, but as you say it seems more like a caravan grave yard.
The drive looks empty without it on, and I worry about the van more when it's in storage than when it is on the drive. We are lucky that the storage is only 2 mins away so we often go and check everything is ok.
I doubt the storage owners will keep the old green vans there if fees not being paid. Our storage also has some very dodgy specimens among the well cared for residents and the owner says they are all paid up to date...... strange.

Maybe the police ought to check them for all the missing persons we have in this country

Know what you mean....we have just moved our van to a new storage facility in the area at the Bridlington CC site. So much more appealing than the isolated site we used to use. Very good storage place, Gold Standard, but well away from anywhere, muddy track to it,pot holes and no loos. We now drive along a tarmac driveway (no potholes!) into a CC site to see holidaymakers properly pitched up. Decent clean toilets and folk to chat to. When we go to load the van we always take sandwiches and sit in the van in the storage compound for lunch. Just like being on holiday really.

Ha Ha never thought of it like that!
We've had our van on our drive for 3 years (much to the annoyance of our neighbours!) We couldnt actually see it for our garden wall and scrubs but they could! But we have now got it on a Gold Cassoa Compound 5 mins from home and i feel sorry for leaving it there! Every time i come home and it's not on the drive I think someone has stolen it! The kids ask "where is the caravan?" so I know it is missed.
I know its safer in the storage but I do think out of sight, out of mind and we have used it less this year:-(
The guy who owns our storage facility commented to us that he had contacted someone who was paying by standing order and hadn't moved the van in 5 years, but the guy said he was quite happy to just keep paying! Nowt as queer as they say.
