Always demanding the best pitch ......(I have seen this this week)
No consideration starting engines early morning then sitting there for 10 mins
Driving across pitches !!!!!!!!!!!
Example : talking to the chap on the opposite pitch today while he was hitching up to go a motorhome owner behind would not wait for him to finish drove on the grass onto our pitch just to get past no eye contact just the blinkers on .
Is it me or am I turning into victor meldrew .

See I think motorhome owners always seem really nice to me, when we've been on site MHers always chat, and when we are towing and a MH is coming the other way, a lot of the time they wave to us, maybe I've been lucky , but they seem nicer to me than some caravan owners I've met. And I am a caravaner so I'm not biased.
Maybe you just met an evil one lol.

I'm not sure whether I own a motorhome or a campervan, so not sure whether to be offended or not!! I talk to anyone, even tent people . (joke, tent people)
We were on the C&CC site at Keswick last week and nobody spoke - caravanners or motorhomers. I've found this to be a trend in the last couple of years, people don't meet your eye - and not just on camp sites, I've found it walking the dog, too.
I have a theory that people on sites are getting more unfriendly because they're not proper "campers", just people who fancy a nice new motorhome or caravan because it's fashionable - and obviously loads cheaper than a holiday abroad .
I agree with you whatamess people don't want to meet your eye now, regardless of what they own, many time I've walked by someone and they've put their head down ( that might because of me though lol) I think it's because it isn't like old school camping anymore, but when we use our tent, so many more people talk to us ie tenters.

I hate and abhor the way some motorhomers park in lay byes for days on end and always the ones with the good views. If I tried it with my van I would probably be prosecuted. I dont wish to upset MHers who are law abiding and dont wild camp in lay byes.

with a limited inventory
never had a problem with any one on a campsite be they motorhomers,tin tenters or tenters - I always talk to them & vice versa when passing or washing the crockery or in the loos but then again we generally only use Club ( both ) sites. I envy motorhomers who wildcamp in laybyes , maybe if we get a motorhome I can wildcamp - but then again I like my E H U
Good and bad in all groups, just like with caravaner's. Met a few really nice MH owners but one really bad last Feb, who insisted on walking across our pitch despite our obvious disagreement, because it saved her about 10 meters on her walk to the loo.
I spoke quite loudly after about the fifth occurrance and said if she didn't stop, I would be setting up my table outside of her van in the morning to have my breakfast and cup of tea. I think she heard, didn't happen again.
That being said, caravaner's do this as well and in their droves. Drives me absolutely nuts. My wife and mates think its funny that this makes me as mad as it does, but I suspect at some point because I am obstinate enough that for the right persistent re offender will end up sat on their pitch having my cornflakes and morning cup of tea, news paper, slippers and all. If I smoked a pipe, I'd take that as well.
Never had this problem with motor homers or for that matter tent campers the sites we use have them all and I have found after speaking with them that most of them were caravan owners before they bought there motor homes after all a motor home is just a caravan with an engine.Ian

I've never really had a problem with people being unfriendly, whether they are motorhomers, caravanners or campers, I find most people speak even if it's only to say good morning.
There has been a couple of exceptions though. Several years ago, while on a site in north Wales with my now-ex, the overflow field was being used for a Caravan Club rally - my ex and I walked our two dogs right round that field more than once and not one single person spoke to us; even when we spoke first all we got was a curt nod of the head.
On the same site, and directly across from us, were a motorhoming couple who seemed to be regulars like us - he spent all day every day with his seat swivelled round the other way watching tv and we only ever saw the wife when she went across to the water tap; they went nowhere and spoke to no-one.
