I'm not familiar with the c-tek chargers, but if its a smart charger it won't overcharge your battery. It will taper its charge off as the battery becomes fully charged, then just cut in and out to keep it at max. charge.

Worth remembering that the Lidl charger (which comes into stock fairly regulalrly) is a CTEK model

Great little charger for about £15 - does 6 & 12 volt, glass mat batteries, cold weather charge, and has a function that is supposed to revive a completely dead battery.

I think the someone might have been me Maggie. The C-Tek is an excellent charger and fairly automatic once connected. It can however look confusing as there are a number of lamps that indicator the current status of the charger.

Once the device is connected, use the [MODE] button to select the car icon (four lights on bottom of charger, select position 2 by repeated pressing of the button) and let the charger run. Of the eight status lamps, once lamp 4 is lit the battery is good to go. At this stage the charger enters a condition whereby it maintains a healthy charge and the last lamp will eventually become lit (lamp 8).
It's worth periodically (once a year will be fine or following a full discharge) to run a full recon program which is done by using the [MODE] button to select the RECOND setting.

Bear in mind that these chargers have a lower charge rate than the unit you've been using, so don't panic if you think the charger isn't doing anything. Connect it up and ignore it till the next day.

Agree, the Lidl charger is a pretty decent little unit if you manage to get one, but I've been advised by C-Tek directly that the Lidl device isn't one of their products.
