called them today to change our address(bear in mind ive moved to a better part of town) and they put my premium up by 15 pounds.Ok not a huge amount of money but what really gets my goat is the caravan is still stored in the same storage place.Just like when I was at my old address, the van will never be left outside my house.
going elsewhere at renewal time me thinks.

Its more likely that they charged you £15 for the pleasure of changing your address. Most insurers have a standard "admin" charge for changes. I think which did a report on how some insurers charge rip off prices.
Have been with them
when i changed address before wasnt charged
but felt there was no communication everything seemed to be done by e-mail internet no verbal communication or anything written
i like to have documents by post
when i did cancel though they where never off the phone
Currently got a claim going through with these Muppets, I have had to do everything directly with the loss adjusters and repairers, the only correspondence I have received from them is a letter enclosing a card to fill in to say how the claim has been handled! Not at all by them, time for a change on renewal I think
we take all feedback very seriously and are always looking to improve the service we offer. I'd also like to take this opportunity to explain a little bit about how we do things and why, hopefully you'll find the information useful.

There
is a cost associated with every change we make to a policy – staff time and
re-issue of documentation. To keep our premiums as low as possible for all our
customers we do need to charge for those customers who make changes to their policy mid-term.
We think the admin fee is fair as having
reviewed admin fees of other insurers, in the caravan and other insurance
markets, ours is below the industry average.

I’m
sorry to hear your claim is not progressing as you wish. We do usually get
excellent feedback about our claims service via the claims satisfaction survey
you have been sent. In 2011 91% of claimants who responded to the survey said
they rated the overall standard of service received as Exceptional or Above
Average.
You
are right that our claims are handled by our underwriters Royal & Sun
Alliance Insurance plc and with the help of our specialist caravan loss
adjuster SPI. It is common for a broker to outsource claims handling in this
way but we think if anything outsourcing improves our service with the claims
handling expertise these partners provide. We work very closely with both of
these partners to ensure they have expert knowledge of our policy terms and the
bespoke needs of our caravanning customers.
We do also have an in house claims
liaison team and it is that team’s duty to get involved if a claim has been held
up for any reason. If you’d like to contact that team on 01422 396 815, I have
informed them of your dissatisfaction. They are awaiting your call and will do
all they can to help get things sorted.

neil while i do not doubt there is a small cost involved in changing details(logging onto system, deleting old address, typing new one saving details and posting out a printout)unless your staff are on 250 quid an hour then im not believing £15 is justified.Even my car insurers who printed out 7 pages of info and done the exact same as yourselves did not charge a penny admin fee to change my address.
However minesapint and mzzy got it spot on.Its another way for insurers to make more profit.
wile i utterly deplore people making false insurance claims etc,it is also grossly unfair IMO to pass this cost onto law abiding customers.
I happened to notice today on the schedule that the cris number on the documentation has actually got one letter incorrect(its a D instead of a B) but theres no way im paying another 15 pounds to get this changed.
just my view no doubt some will agree some will disagree.

i'm with The Camping & Caravan Club for mine it's due to end in about 8 weeks so when i phoned to say A: i'm moving it to a storage site and B: I need to add on cover for a £500 motor mover plus a £150 fitting fee i thought i'm gonna get stung here. But he was absolutely lovely. He said because it was so close to the end of my policy he wouldn't charge the admin fee and the poliy increased by £1.50 which he also waviered. BRILLIANT service
Just
to confirm, we would not charge an admin fee for correcting the CRIS number on
your touring caravan policy as this is simply a correction of a mistake rather
than a change.
This
would be the same if, for example, your name had a spelling or typing error in
it when you received your documents. We never charge an admin fee for changing
mistakes on policy documentation as it could have resulted from a
misunderstanding over the phone or simply a typing error on our part.
It's
important that the CRIS number is 100% correct so please do give us a call to
get this updated.
We
always aim to offer our customers the best possible service and appreciate your
feedback, we have taken your comments on board and informed our management
team. If you have any further queries or issues then please don't hesitate to
get in touch via info at caravanguard.co.uk
or by giving us a call on 01422 396 777.
Best
regards,
Neil
