Doesn't matter this time of year, but propane (red cylinder) will work in colder temperatures ie below about 5 C, where butane (blue) won't.

You need either a regulator for the appropriate cylinder, or if you have a fitted bulkhead regulator, a "pigtail" hose to fit whichever you choose.
