bailey dealer today for second service and i have been informed that my wheel hub has small holes in which could be down to a casting defect
Some missing information from the OP e.g. is the van is less than three years old? (I assume so as its at second service.) Did the van have its first service within the warranty timeframe, and is this second service within the time period required by the warranty?
Based on what has been posted and assuming that the van is less than three years old and services all within time, I am surprised that the dealer side stepped Bailey and suggested that it was down to Alko - a supplier of parts for the warranted van. Dealer should know better and should be on to Bailey immediately with his "expert" view that it is a casting defect. Bailey should then be authorising the work.
The Dealer should know but is it a defect or are holes part of the end product? What you have not commented upon is whether the "defect" presents any problem/danger etc.
You have also not included in your post any indication of where you purchased the van, either from a dealer or private sale. If it was from the dealer who now alleges the defect, then the Sale of Goods may assist you to get the dealer to sort the problem out. Surprising just how the Dealer may then conclude that its Baileys' problem if you quote legal verse and chapter at him to use his own money to remedy the "defect".
